This box contains correspondence (including holarship recipient letters of gratitude), photographs, slides, evaluations and comparisons (including Rathbone’s personal record sheet), lists of donors, reference material, depositions, publications, and notes related to the KSU College of Engineering, as well as projects and organizations that Rathbone was involved with. The additional projects and organizations include the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), Kemper Military School, and the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions.

This box contains records related to Order of the Engineer. These records include meeting agendas and minutes, speech scripts, correspondence, publications, pamphlets, nomination forms, and files related to fundraising and profits.

This box contains certificates, photos, slides, correspondence, minutes, speech scripts, notes, budget and cost analysis, booklets, and pamphlets related to the KSU College of Engineering, as well as projects and organizations that Rathbone was involved with. These projects and organizations include the Wrestling House Project, Phi Kappa Phi, Riley County High School talks, the Delphinium Society, the Royal Horticultural Society, the Mid-America State Universities Association (MASUA), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the Kansas Power and Light Company.

This box contains personal and professional correspondence to and from Don and Lynne Rathbone. There are many subjects, but the majority of these writings pertain to holidays, recreational organizations, and Don E. Rathbone’s retirement.

This box contains books and booklets related to Rathbone’s personal life, Kansas State University, and other engineering-related works.
The personal items include a Stony Island photo album and the Schenley Journal (the Schenley High School yearbook) volumes from 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953.
The KSU items include the KSU College of Engineering Alumni Directory volumes from 1986, 1995, 2000, and 2008; The KSU College of Engineering Fact Book volumes from 1990-2000 and 2012-2013; Legacy: Engineering at Kansas State University by Cheryl May; The Impact of K-State Engineering; and Kansas State University: A Walk Through the Campus.
The other engineering-related items include In My Words: The Oral History Project as told by Perdue History printed for Donald E. Rathbone (1939-2021), Burlington Handbook of Mathematical Tables and Forumlas, Engineering: An Introduction to a Creative Profession, 5th Edition (by George C. Beakley, Donovan L. Evans, and John Bertrand Keats), the 1979 Tuttle Creek Hydroelectric Project Feasibility Assessment Report, and The Making of an Engineer by Lawrence P. Grayson.

This box contains two signed K-State volleyballs, one of which has the 2007 Home Schedule printed on it, a deck of playing cards, a Transcriber Company diamond needle, a Pickering Stereo Fluxvalve Cartridge for automatic turntables, a Rolodex with contact information, a certificate of recognition from the House of Representatives to Don and Lynne Rathbone, an album with photos and mementos from Rathbone’s life, and engineering-related tools. These tools include a Hemmi Slide Rule with Don E. Rathbone’s name engraved on it inside a leather case, a Type Ceramic Capacitor Rule, a Pocket Metric Converter, and a Motor Data Calculator.
